Adapters are used to go from one type of mount to another. Typically, adapters will go direct from the loader boom to a Quick attach mount. Also known as a Carrier or coupler, adapters can be made to go from a (female) Quick attach mount of one type to a (male) Quick attach of another to make it easy to move or use implements with different mounts without having to change machinery. Sometimes called a "cheater" adapter
